D-day calculator

Pick a date to see how many days are left — or how many have passed — counted in days, weeks and weekdays. The table lists milestones such as 100 and 1,000 days from your start date.

How the count works

The calculator counts calendar days between two dates: D-10 means the target is ten days after the start date. Weeks are whole weeks plus the remaining days. Weekdays count Monday to Friday after the start date up to and including the target, without public holidays, which differ by country.

Time zones and daylight saving time do not change the result, because only calendar dates are compared.

Counting the first day as day 1

In some traditions — Korean anniversaries are a common example — the first day itself counts as day 1, so the 100th day is 99 days after the start. Tick “Count the start day as day 1” and the milestones and the days-since count use that convention. Leave it unticked for an ordinary countdown.

Turn the countdown into a plan

A number is only motivating if something happens on the way. The exam template schedules 13 steps back from the exam date, the wedding template 14 steps across six months, and the moving checklist 12 steps around moving day. Pick the template, enter the date you calculated here and every step gets its due date.
