Things alternative when you need more than Apple devices
Last updated:
Things by Cultured Code is admired for its design and calm workflow, and it runs on Apple devices. If you also use Android, Windows or a browser at work, you need something that runs everywhere. Pladay is one option.

When Things is the better choice
- You only use Apple devices and value native Mac and iOS design highly.
- You prefer paying once instead of a subscription.
- Its Areas, Projects and Today/Evening structure matches how you think.
When Pladay may fit better
- You switch between an Android phone, a Windows PC or a work browser (Android app).
- You want habits, a focus timer and life tracking in the same place.
- You want templates with dates, such as travel preparation.
How to move your to-dos
- Pladay has no Things importer. Select the to-dos you want in Things and copy them; they paste as text, one per line.
- Paste into Pladay's input. Each line becomes a task; dates written in words are recognised.
- Recreate Areas as lists and Projects as lists or tags, and set up repeating to-dos with a rule in plain language.
FAQ
Is there a native Mac app?
Pladay runs on Mac as an installable web app from Chrome, Edge or Safari, with offline support. There is no separate native Mac app.
Can I keep Things on my iPhone and use Pladay elsewhere?
The two do not sync with each other, so you would be keeping two task lists. It is better to choose one.
