Budget and to-do list in one place: never miss a bill or a renewal

Last updated:

Most money problems are not maths problems but timing problems: a bill paid late, a free trial that renewed, a deadline forgotten. Keeping money tasks next to the rest of your to-dos fixes the timing.

Bills: repeat them on the day they are due

Rent, card statements, utilities and loan repayments follow fixed rules, so create each one once as a repeating task with the right rule: “Rent every month on the 1st”, “Pay card on the last day of every month”, “Utilities every month on the 15th”. Pladay understands rules like the last day or the second Tuesday of a month, which most bills actually use (see repeating tasks).

Subscriptions and free trials

Subscriptions leak money because they renew silently. List every one with its price and renewal date, and get a reminder the day before renewal or before a free trial ends. Once a quarter, cancel anything you did not use in the last month.

Pladay's Subscriptions module shows monthly and yearly totals and upcoming renewals, and can create the reminder task for you.

A monthly spending review in ten minutes

Once a month, look at three numbers: total spending, the biggest category and the change from last month. Then pick one concrete action (“cook at home twice more a week”) and put it on your list. A review that ends in a task changes behaviour; one that ends in a feeling does not.

In the Money module you log income and spending with categories and optional budgets; it shows the month's total, budget left and a comparison with the same point last month. In Korea it can also sort card and bank notification texts automatically.

Yearly paperwork

Tax returns, insurance renewals and annual fees come once a year and are therefore the easiest to forget. Add them as yearly repeating tasks with a reminder a few weeks early, and collect documents as they arrive instead of in a panic. The tax checklist template gives a starting sequence.

FAQ

Does Pladay connect to my bank?

No. Pladay does not log in to bank accounts. You enter transactions yourself or, in Korea, forward card notification texts to be sorted.

Can it handle several currencies?

Transactions can be recorded in other currencies; monthly totals use your main currency and note how many entries were in other currencies.
