Looking for a TickTick alternative? A neutral comparison
Last updated:
TickTick is popular because it bundles a to-do list, calendar, habit tracker and Pomodoro timer in one app. Pladay shares that all-in-one idea, so the differences are mostly about data, languages and the extra life modules.

When TickTick is the better choice
- You share lists and assign tasks with family or colleagues; TickTick supports shared lists, Pladay is personal.
- You want native apps on every platform including Apple Watch and a long track record.
- Your current setup works and the features you use daily are all there.
When Pladay may fit better
- You want to try a planner without creating an account, with data stored on your device first (offline and local-first).
- You want sensitive health records kept device-only by default (privacy).
- You want to choose your AI engine, including on-device or local models (AI planner).
- You use repeats like the last Friday of the month or Korean lunar dates (repeating tasks).
How to move from TickTick to Pladay
- In TickTick's web app settings, generate a backup; it downloads as a CSV file.
- In Pladay, open Integrations → Import and choose TickTick. No account is needed: the file is read on your device and never uploaded.
- Pick the CSV file and check the preview of lists and tasks.
- Confirm. Importing the same file again skips tasks that already exist.
- Habits and focus history are not part of the task backup; start your habits fresh in Pladay (habit tracker).
Test before you commit
Use both for two weeks with a clear question: which one do you open without thinking? The app you reach for by default is the right one, whatever the feature list says.
FAQ
Can Pladay read TickTick's Excel export?
The importer reads the CSV backup. If you have an .xlsx file, Pladay offers a link to convert it to CSV first.
Do tags and priorities come across?
Yes. Lists, titles, descriptions, due dates and times, priorities, tags, subtasks, completed status and repeat rules in the CSV are mapped, and TickTick notes become Pladay notes. Check the preview before confirming.
