The method in one paragraph
The Pomodoro Technique, created by Francesco Cirillo, alternates a fixed focus period (classically 25 minutes) with a short break (about 5 minutes), and takes a longer break after every four sessions. The fixed length makes starting easier and the breaks keep attention fresh across a long day. Many people adjust the lengths; consistency matters more than the exact numbers.
How to use the plan
- Before the window starts, assign a task to each focus session. Big tasks get several sessions; small ones can share one.
- If the window ends with free minutes, use them for admin or a buffer rather than starting a session you cannot finish.
- Treat breaks as real breaks: stand up, look away from the screen, drink water.
Run it in Pladay
Pladay's focus timer runs 15-, 25-, 45- or 60-minute sessions with a 5-minute break, links each session to a task and counts your daily focus minutes. The focus plan picks which tasks fit into the hours you have.
FAQ
Is 25 minutes the right length?
It is the classic length, not a rule. If you lose focus before 25 minutes, try 15; for deep work, many people prefer 45 or 50.
Does the planner save my settings?
No. Nothing is stored or sent; the schedule is calculated in your browser each time.
